چکیده

We study the asymptotic behavior of the wave function in a simple one dimensional model of ionization by pulses, in which the time-dependent potential is of the form V (x, t) = −2δ(x)(1 − e cosωt), where δ is the Dirac distribution. We find the ionization probability in the limit t → ∞ for all λ and ω. The long pulse limit is very singular, and, for ω = 0, the survival probability is const λ, much larger than O(λ), the one in the abrupt transition counterpart, V (x, t) = δ(x)1{t≥1/λ} where 1 is the Heaviside function.

Numerical solution of second-order stochastic differential equations with Gaussian random parameters

In this paper, we present the numerical solution of ordinary differential equations (or SDEs), from each order especially second-order with time-varying and Gaussian random coefficients. We indicate a complete analysis for second-order equations in special case of scalar linear second-order equations (damped harmonic oscillators with additive or multiplicative noises). Making stochastic differe...

Multidimensional high harmonic spectroscopy of polyatomic molecules: detecting sub-cycle laser-driven hole dynamics upon ionization in strong mid-IR laser fields.

High harmonic generation (HHG) spectroscopy has opened up a new frontier in ultrafast science, where electronic dynamics can be measured on an attosecond time scale. The strong laser field that triggers the high harmonic response also opens multiple quantum pathways for multielectron dynamics in molecules, resulting in a complex process of multielectron rearrangement during ionization. Using co...

Theory of Gas Ionization by Intense Electromagnetic Fields

The distribution function of the electrons produced in the interaction between an intense electromagnetic wave and a neutral gas is derived and is shown to be nonequilibrium and anisotropic. By assuming that the time scale of gas ionization is much greater than the field period, it is shown that the electron distribution function formed in microwave and optical discharges has sharp anisotropy a...

Coherence and decoherence in radiation off colliding heavy ions.

We discuss the kinetics of a disoriented chiral condensate, treated as an open quantum system. We suggest that the problem is analogous to that of a damped harmonic oscillator. Master equations are used to establish a hierarchy of relevant time scales. Some phenomenological consequences are briefly outlined. High-order harmonic generation in atomic hydrogen at 248 nm: Dipole-moment versus acceleration spectrum.

%'e present a study of the high-order harmonic-generation (HG) spectra of atomic hydrogen at 248 nm based on the Fourier transform of the expectation values of the induced dipole moment and acceleration. The calculations were performed by extending a fast-Fourier-transformation split-operator technique (in spherical coordinates) to the solution of the time-dependent wave functions in intense la...
